FAST 3D Job Aid SOMATOM On.site / SomX This job aid will walk you through the steps to properly turn on and use FAST 3D while scanning Brain/Head(s) on the On.site system. While FAST Planning recognizes human anatomy, FAST 3D aligns the patient images even when the patient is not 100% straight due to anatomical or medical reasons (e.g., drains or ET Tubes). You will need to access the Exam Designer by signing in as the SuperUser. The SuperUser was created during your initial training and allows you to access the Exam Designer in the Advanced Scan Mode. There should also be a customized password for this User. 1. Access the Exam Designer as the SuperUser. This can be found in Advanced Mode under the Tools icon or cog wheel in right upper corner of the screen. Once in Exam Designer, select Scan Protocols. Select the protocols you would like to turn FAST 3D on. This will be your Head/Brain protocols found under Customer Protocols. . Adult Head (1) Vascular Head (0) HEAD WO Vascular Neck (0) Neck (0) Vascular Thorax (0) Shoulder (0) 3. Under Recon Favorites, find the Fix Axial reconstructions and turn Fix Axial off. Once the protocol has been changed to allow for FAST 3D, click Confirm Changes and Save Protocols. Once the protocols are saved, exit the Exam Designer and sign out as SuperUser. Your protocols will now utilize FAST 3D to align your images.
